If we upload your image(s) to the website, the uploaded images may contain embedded location and other metadata (i.e. EXIF, GPS). Although we request people do not download images from our website, we cannot guarantee the privacy of any data attached to those images.

Contact forms

Although we collect your name and email address in order to respond to your request for information, it will not be used for any other purpose. Be assured that this information will not be shared with third parties.

Cookies

We do not use cookies or other software to collect data on this site.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behave in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Although our site is not specifically setup to collect analytic data (number of site visitors, types of devices viewed from, country of origin etc.), some website hosting companies and internet providers collect such data to help protect against malware and other security reasons. However, we do not have access to this data.

Who we share your data with

We do not share data.

How long we retain your data

We currently do not allow comments. We also do not offer any “user interaction” on our site and therefore don’t have any user registration forms to collect personal data.

However, if our website format or policy changes and we decide to allow comments and user registration, and if you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments (if any) may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

We only receive contact information from users that request information through our “Contact Form”. This information is needed in order to reply to your request for information. We don’t rent/sell/share any of your contact info. However, we may use third party email services in the course of helping you with the information requested on the form. In doing so this third party (for example Gmail) may handle some of this information in their system to allow us to reply back and forth with you. In the same manner, as your email provider would handle some of our contact info such as email address etc.

You can request we remove you from our “Contacts” list at any time.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We do not currently collect data from users of this site except through our contact form. We use industry standard data security software on the site and our hosting company uses their own “malware and security” to help protect their users (us – kenorascottish.org) against data breaches.

What data breach procedures we have in place.

Our installed software will alert us of a malware attack and in most cases stop and clean such malware automatically and/or help us to fix the issues. However, we cannot always guarantee any attack on our site will not result in data being stolen.

Should such an event occur we will inform our users (anyone registered or that have used the contact form, if that part of our database is breached) that a breach has occured and that their information has been compromised. We don’t collect credit card or financial information or passwords through our site so the only information that an attack may get would be email name and email address.

What third parties we receive data from.

We do not receive data from third parties.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data.

We do not use automated decision making or profiling systems or software on our site.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements.

We are a non-profit organization and as such, are subject to standard provincial and federal regulations governing those organizations.
