Kenora Scottish Pipes & Drums

About Us

About Us

The Kenora Scottish Pipes & Drums is a non-profit organization run by volunteers for the enhancement and enrichment of the Scottish culture in Northwestern Ontario.

The Band was formed in 1986 and is run by an executive which consists of a President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer all elected from within the Band. The Pipe-Major, Drum Sergeant, Quartermaster and Events Coordinator are all selected from within the Band membership. The Pipe-Major selects the Pipe Sergeant and the Pipe Corporal from within the ranks.

The Band is currently a community band – which means that the Band performs at community functions, parades and also at private events. The Band is not participating  in band competitions at this time.

The Band holds a General Meeting once yearly within three months of the end of the fiscal year and the membership decides the direction of the Band at that time.
