Band Workshop – Private David Kejiick, DCM, Armoury, Kenora – March 16, 2024

On March 16, 2024 Wes Sheppard and Dave Chorney made the trek down from Winnipeg to lead a band workshop. Wes’s portion of the workshop built on the basics from the previous workshop as well as getting a feel for some of our new tunes. Dave got to work with our snares and tenors.

Wes worked the pipers hard during the morning session on chanters but not so hard that we didn’t have a few laughs. I heard on good authority that Dave also worked the drummers hard, helping them to get up to speed on a number of our basic sets.

In the afternoon, Wes and Dave helped to get pipes and drums tuned up and to run through several sets of our repertoire. By the end of the day, we were all played out (pun intended) but quite thankful for the guidance and instructions that we received.

Another fun and rewarding day as always when we have a great teacher like Wes and Dave come and work with us. Looking forward to our next workshop.
