Annual Cadet Review – May 21, 2019

On Tuesday May 21, 2019, the Band played for the annual review of Army and Air cadets at the Private David Kejick, DCM, Armoury (116th Field Battery Armoury), Kenora, Ontario. The event began with the Band leading the cadets into the drill hall and marching them to the parade review position. Drummers Terri Forster and Jay Whetter provided a special cadence beat for the cadets as they did a March past for the reviewing officers. To close out the ceremony, the band again led the cadets in a circuit of the drill hall and marched them out. This is an important event for the cadets, as promotions and awards are handed out by the reviewing senior officers. It is also important for the Band as this is one of the ways that we give back to the Armoury for the regular use of the facilities for our band practices and storage space for band equipment. Congratulations go out to Jay Whetter for his debut performance as our new bass drummer. Great job Jay!
