Canada Day – July 1, 2019

On July 1 Canada Day, the Kenora Scottish Pipes & Drums Band lead the parade at noon, followed by the children’s decorated bicycles. Accompanied by the Winnipeg St. Andrews Grade 4 Pipe Band members, they provided an astounding sight marching down Bernier Drive and doing a flash mob inside the Whitecap Pavilion during the Farmer’s Market to the astonishment and enjoyment of shoppers and visitors alike. Following this, the blended Band performed at the Mather-Walls House at 2:00 p.m. for the annual Canada Day Tea festivities where Helen and Grace Brown delighted the audience with some Highland Dancing demonstrations. The Band rounded out Canada Day with a short performance (flash mob style) at the Lakeshore Hotel in Keewatin.
