Canada 150 Granting Ceremony – November 1, 2017

The “Canada 150 Granting Ceremony and Community Celebration” was held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Seven Generations Institute in Kenora, Ontario.

The event was held to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday and was sponsored by the “Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation”. The evening’s agenda featured the Royal Canadian Legion Kenora Branch 12 Colour Party led in by the Kenora Scottish Pipes & Drums.

The Community Foundation also announced the organization’s 2017 Smart & Caring Community award winner. This was the third year the award was presented to a community volunteer for their charitable efforts on behalf of others in the region. Established in 2015, the Award recognizes the efforts of community minded individuals who have made a real difference in the lives of others, in the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region.
